Relationships between the Water Uptake and Nutrient Status of Rubber Trees in a Monoculture Rubber Plantation

Rubber cultivation is primarily rainfed agriculture, which means that water supplies are not stable in most rubber cultivated areas. Therefore, improving the use of trees through fertilization management seems to be a breakthrough for enhancing growth and latex yield carrying out intensive agriculture. However, relationships among nutrient status trees, their uptake, soil resources, including nutrients, remain unclear. To address this issue, we measured C, N, P, K, Ca, Mg concentrations leaves, stems, roots monoculture plantation distinguished uptake depths based on isotope analysis throughout year. We found absorbed from 5–50 cm depth layer, nutrients (usually K) decreased with depth. In addition, exhibited positive correlations tissues. The more absorb intermediate they contain. applying fertilizer layers, especially those rich C content, could greatly promote tree growth.
